Cumbria Youth Alliance (CYA), in partnership with Cumberland Council, is undertaking a youth services mapping exercise to assess what’s working, where the gaps are, and how we can collectively improve provision for young people across Cumberland.

To ensure we capture a full and accurate picture, we are seeking input from youth service professionals, young people, and the wider community. We would greatly appreciate your support in sharing and completing the following surveys:

  • Youth Survey – For young people aged 11-25 to share their experiences, challenges, and what they would like to see improved.
  • Parent & Community Survey – To gather insights from parents, carers, and community members on service awareness and youth needs. (this might be a better fit for your trustees)
  • Staff & Volunteer Survey – For those working or volunteering in youth services to highlight strengths, barriers, and workforce needs.

Each survey takes just a few minutes to complete, but the impact will be lasting. The data collected will directly inform local decision-making and ensure youth voices and frontline experience drives investment and development in youth services.

We ask that you please:

  • Share these surveys widely within your organisation – with your young people, staff, volunteers, and networks.
  • Encourage completion – particularly among young people, as their experiences are key to shaping future services.
  • Highlight the impact – This is an opportunity for young people and organisations to directly influence provision, funding priorities, and local youth strategy.

What to say to young people?

“Your opinion matters! This survey is a chance to tell decision-makers what young people need in Cumberland. What’s missing? What’s working? What could be better? Have your say in under 5 minutes and help make real change happen.”

We are working to a tight deadline, so your immediate support would be greatly appreciated.
